BMW R-nineT Sport29th January 2016 Akrapovic | Aluminium | LED indicators | 1,170cc ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY►
The buzzword is "Pure", with a capital "P". That's how BMW is promoting its new 1,170cc R-nineT Sport model. Pure, as in Pure Aluminium, Pure Riding, Pure Passion, Pure Authenticity, Pure Customising, and Pure Lifestyle. The Pure Aluminium is an in-yer-face reference to the fuel tank which is an aluminium alloy fabrication boasting smooth (or optional visible) welded seams plus hand-brushing with a gloss topcoat (as distinct from the plain black fuel tank on the standard bike). And the Pure Aluminium also refers to the hand-brushed aluminium alloy seat hump, but the penalty for this is the loss of the pillion pegs.
With the Sport model you also get a high-level Akrapovic sport silencer made from titanium (as distinct from the steel twin-silencers on the standard model), plus heated handlebar grips, LED indicators, and ABS (which is, of course, now mandatory on all new bikes above 125cc). The price is 12,990 OTR, and BMW reckon the wheels will be ready to roll on February 6th 2016. ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY► | MOTORCYCLE NEWS - LATEST!!
