Sump events listings are 100% FREE. You tell us, we'll tell the world

Ever since we saw American Graffiti, we've been trying to use the word "bitchin" in everyday conversation. Such as "Hey man, do you know the way to the bitchin' station?" and "Hi officer, that's a bitchin' blue light ya got there". That kind of stuff. And now we've found another excuse with this bitchin' 1956 Triumph T110 bobber built by Foundry Motorcycle based near Chichester, West Sussex. Usually we can find something wrong with anything (even American Graffiti). But this Trumpet has got us beat. It's perfect. Foundry Motorcycle is always a cool place to visit, and they like bitchin' guys and gals like you to drop in and drink their bitchin' coffee and maybe buy some bitchin' gear and talk bikes. We'll be featuring one of their bitchin' creations soon enough right here on Sump. But if you can't wait, quit your bitchin' and follow the bitchin' link, brother. Pic by Nick Carter.

9th April 2017, Sunday

London Bus Museum Spring Gathering

Brooklands Museum, Brooklands Road, Weybridge, Surrey KT13 0QN.

Buses are, naturally enough, the main event at this event. But there will also be an unspecified number of taxi-cabs, trucks and military vehicles on display. The organisers reckon it's the longest-running and best-loved show of its kind, and we're not arguing. Around 100 buses and coaches from all over the UK will be converging at Brooklands. Expect new and old stuff. The theme this year is "Pay As You Board", and there will be all kinds of exhibitions of bus equipment, memorabilia and suchlike. We know that plenty of you Sumpsters are interested in this kind of stuff (and here at Sump we confess a passing interest too). So if you're in the area, or fancy a trip, get your motor running. There's also stuff for the kiddies including a treasure hunt, so you can make a family day of it, etc. And one more thing; there will be a "traditional Punch & Judy Show". But in this age of political correctness, how traditional will that really be? Meanwhile, all the usual Brooklands attractions (motorcycles, cars and aircraft) will be accessible.
Open: 10am to 5pm.
Admission: Adults £11 advance/£13 on the day. Family ticket £30/£34. Discounts for kids (£6/£7), and miserly discounts for students and seniors (£10/£11).

SEE SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING THIS DATE!!!

Classic Car, Kit Car & Hot Rod Evening

The Whitwell & Reepham Station, Whitwell Road,
Reepham, Norfolk, NR10 4GA.

The title tells you pretty much all you need to know. So bring your Ford Zodiac, Chevrolet Bel Air, Beach Buggy, Caterham Seven or T-Bucket. This event will be held every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month throughout 2017. However, there's some confusion. The second Wednesday in April is actually the 12th, not the 10th (contrary to the organiser's listing). So check before you make your move. Food will be available including tea and cakes. Note that you don't need to have a classic car, kit car or hot rod. You just have to be interested.

Remember to query the date!!!

Open: From 5pm.
Admission: No charges have been mentioned.
