Weiss Montana heated glove
You can select 60°C or 45°C at the touch of a button on the cuff. That, along with the £200 price tag and the "up to six hours" battery life, is the essential information.
Battery life? Well these are rechargeable gloves and have an in-built battery pack. They're new from Weiss (aka Fowlers of Bristol) and might suit classic bikers who haven't got the electrical capacity to run standard heated grips, or simply don't fancy all the extra wiring strung around the 'bars.
We're told that these mitts, made from "a mix of textiles and full grain leather" come with Thinsulate insulation and electrical filaments going here and there, and they're also sporting chamude panels (technically Chamude®) on the palm.
Q. What the hell is chamude? A. Artificial leather, apparently.
That aside, they look par for the course for modern gloves (which isn't saying very much). And if your personal internal wiring doesn't charge your fingertips the way it used to, you could maybe use a pair of these.
We haven't tested them, so you'll have to take the plunge for yourself. But we are advised that they'll certainly last long enough for the average daily commute, whatever that means to you.
What we really want to see is more of this kind of gear being styled for classic bikers (who, okay, aren't always the most stylish people on the road, but they know what they want, huh?)
