Why? Because this year, Comet is sponsoring the Pride of Ownership Competition in which 25 to 30 motorcycles/scooters will be hoping to walk off with the top prize. 
Martin Webb and Ray Waller are the guys behind Comet Classics. They founded the business 3 years hence trading in motorcycles, petrol pumps and memorabilia, and you can buy stock that's either fully restored, or awaiting your loving attention.  Among the firm's collection is the (immediately) above 1922 499cc Rudge Multi which is currently carrying a price tag of £21,995.
