H&H Chateau Impney Sale resultsDecember 2015 Auction | Velocette Thruxton | BMW R12
Auction House H&H fielded 28 motorcycle lots at its Chateau Impney Sale at Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire on 9th December 2016. Of the 28 lots, 12 were not sold, and 1 was withdrawn. The highest selling lot was (Lots 6) a restored/uprated 1966 500cc Velocette Thruxton (image immediately above) which made £18,480.

Of particular interest to many (including us) was the 1935 750cc BMW R12 outfit (see the two images immediately above). There's not much detail here, except to say that the sidecar is fitted with the correct (albeit deactivated) MG42 light machine gun, and that it had been stored for many years in a Japanese museum. However, this was one of the lots that didn't find a buyer. We're expecting to see it pop up again somewhere in the foreseeable future. Beyond that, there's not much else to report, except to say that 15 lots sold out of 28 isn't very impressive (but neither is it exactly terrible). Chateau Impney was just a workaday auction with fairly modest lots up for grabs at a time of the year when plenty of people are making Christmas preparations, etc. But the prices made weren't exactly runaway.
H&H's next sale will be at Donington Park, Leicestershire on Wednesday 24th February 2016, and then at Duxford, Cambridgeshire on Wednesday 20th April 2016. www.classic-auctions.com — Girl Happy |
