Cameras don't stop everyone from misbehaving. In fact, some folk see cameras as a challenge. As a come-on. As a matador's cape. So they misbehave more, and when the red mist comes down, there's no telling what they might do.

The trick is to let them come across the camera rather than the other way around. When folk realise that they've strayed into a cameras view, they don't take it so personally and they're more inclined to quietly accept it and modify their behaviour.

But if you spring a camera on someone, that's different.

Do we have figures to support this notion? Absolutely not. It's just what we think. That's all.

That's why we devised these CAUTION; FRONT & REAR CAMERAS stickers. Slap one on the back of your car, van, topbox or whatever and let the little strips of vinyl do their job as drivers creep up (or hurtle up) behind.

The speed camera graphic on the stickers isn't really appropriate, of course. But we used it because most drivers/riders (in the UK at least) recognise the graphic and react accordingly. Ten thousand years from now there will probably be a speed camera gene in the human genome. Seriously.

Meanwhile, we're just trying to flog a few stickers and help encourage other road users to behave themselves.

Try one and see if it works for you. Better still, try a hundred and run a proper experiment and send us the results.

Doesn't work with psychos, though. But then again, what the hell does?
