25th Las Vegas Auction6th January 2016 Mecum | MidAmerica | Brough Superior | Euro 4 ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY►
A smoking press release from auction house Mecum has just landed on our news desk. Mecum is the firm behind this long established MidAmerica sale, and it's expecting a particularly big sale. The date is Thursday January 7th to Saturday January 9th 2016. The venue is South Point Casino and Exhibition Hall, Las Vegas, USA. This is a huge auction of motorcycles and motorcycle related memorabilia, much (if not most) of it with no reserve. Expect to find everything from a 1963 Velosolex (Lot T35), to a 1979 Yamaha XS650 custom bike (Lot T50) to a 1953 Vincent Black Lightning Replica (Lot T93) to a 2003 Suzuki GSXR600 (Lot T126).
Mecum is handling 13 motorcycle collections mostly from American enthusiasts, but also from an avid and evidently eclectic Australian lover of motorcycles old, new and a little weird. We know that plenty of you Sumpsters ain't too crazy about motorcycle auctions, often due to the mistaken belief that such sales simply raise the ante and put bikes out of reach of the hoi polloi like us. But in fact, it very often works the other way and gives ordinary folk like us to snap up great bikes at very low prices.
To get the best from these sales, you need to study the form for a few months (or years) and move in at the right moment. And make sure you check out the memorabilia. A lot of gems get overlooked by most people and get picked up by some shrewd collectors/investors. www.mecum.com ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY► |
