Ducati 1299 Panigale S kit21st December 2015 Pocher | Museum | Model kit | 1:4 scale ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY►
Italian firm, Pocher, has been making model kits since 1966. The company's latest offering is this 1299 Ducati Panigale S, and it represents Pocher's first foray into the world of motorcycling. So okay, the planet is replete with motorcycle model kits. But this one is a little more expensive than others and retails at around $749. Listed as a 1:4 scale, this Duke kit features 1,055 highly detailed parts that you'll need to screw together.
The materials used are die-cast metal, rubber and plastic. The completed kit measures 20.4 inches x 7.9 inches x 10.9 inches and weighs 11 pounds. It's going on sale right now, but not necessarily at the same time around the world. The real L-twin, Desmodromic, 4-valves per cylinder, liquid-cooled, 6-speed Panigale boasts similarly impressive numbers and specifications. The engine output is 205hp @ 10,500rpm. Maximum torque is 106.7lb-ft (144.6Nm) @ 8,750 rpm. The displacement is 1,285cc. The bore is 116mm x 60.8mm. The compression ratio is 12.6:1. The wet weight is just 420lbs (190.5kg).
So where can you buy this miniature Panigale homage? Well, you'll need to talk to a quality model shop, or speak to your local Ducati dealer, or contact Pocher directly. Like a lot of things Italian, when they do something, they don't do it by halves. It looks like one helluva kit. Take note that we're now accepting Christmas presents. ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY► |
