Ducati XDiavel Cruiser for 2016

Ducati has wowed visitors at this year's EICMA Motorcycle Show by revealing its new XDiavel cruiser. Powered by the 1,262cc twin-cylinder Testastretta engine (with up-to-the-minute variable valve timing), this new belt-driven addition to Ducati's increasingly compelling range of thoroughbred hardware is aimed squarely at the macho cruising scene currently populated by the likes of Harley-Davidson, Triumph, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki & Co.

We're hearing that 156hp and 96lbs-ft of torque will be available along with 5 seats, 4 footpeg positions, and 3 handlebar choices. Italians are famed for healthy appetites, and Ducati is currently stuffing its face for all its worth.

But it will be interesting to see how VW's current emissions-fiddling woes impacts upon motorcycle development over the next year or two. The VW Group is the ultimate owner of Ducati via an Audi-Lamborghini tie-up.
