Indian Scout Sixty for 201626th November 2015 69 cubic inch | 999cc | £9,000 | V-twin | 1,133cc ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY►
The word "Sixty" refers to the engine size. Meaning 60 cubic inches, which translates as 999cc. This is Indian's latest spin on the 2015 Scout platform, and it's going to be somewhere around £1,500 cheaper than the 69 cubic inch (1,133cc) parent model. Therefore, come 2016, you can ride away on one for maybe less than £9,000. Sterling.
It's not clear exactly what cost-cutting features have been introduced. At present, it looks as if Indian has pretty much simply downsized the liquid-cooled DOHC V-twin engine in order to cut the price. In other words, it appears to be a face-saving exercise to shave off a few bob. Everything else is much the same (6-speed transmission, cast aluminium alloy frame, telescopic front fork, dual rear shocks, 16-inch wheels front and back, 61-inch wheelbase, 538 lbs (244 kg) dry. Persuaded? We're not sure that we are. But Harley-Davidson's £5,795 Street 750 has to be in the firing line, and Indian's pricing has brought the two marques closer. But there's still a thousand quid between 'em, and times are hard. ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY► | MOTORCYCLE NEWS - LATEST!!
