New Oakley range of shades

There was a time when if you wore sunglasses anywhere except on the beach or whilst watching an atom bomb test, people thought you were a flash b%$1@®d. Remember? Well times have changed, and we put on our sunglasses before we even think about underwear. So naturally we're always interested in new shades within which to strut around, hence this modest Sump news item on Oakley's latest range of essential eyewear for cool flash b%$1@®ds.

The range consists of the Sliver Moto GP style (image above); the Sliver VR46 Valentino Rossi style (immediately below); and the Catalyst Valentino Rossi style (further down).

Features include (grab hold of something solid) O-Matter stress-resistant frames, Three Point Fit earpieces, Plutonite lenses, and Unobtanium earsocks and nosepad (Catalyst Valentino Rossi style only). And naturally, being Oakley lenses, the optics are high quality and stop all the usual nasty UV, UVB AND UVC rays, etc.

But if you're like us, you buy your sunglasses on style, price and convenience and leave all the techy stuff to the scientists and ad-men. The recommended price for any of this trio is £130. However, you can buy 'em for a lot less if you (a) shop around the universe, and (b) are prepared to take a chance on lesser-known retail outlets.

And take a tip; try 'em naked. If you can still manage to look cool, a good day probably lies ahead.
