SW Motech Legend Gear29th March 2016 Tank bag | Side bag | Rucksack | Retro luggage ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY►
Riders of Ducati Scramblers, Triumph Street Twins and similar retro bikes look this way and pin back your ears. SW Motech has just released details of its Legend Gear range of motorcycle luggage which includes "vintage looking" tank bags, side bags and a tail pack, all manufactured from waxed cotton and Napalon (imitation leather). The press release was pretty involved, and life's too short to decode it all, so we'll simply tell you that the system has "PU coatings", "waterproof" inner bags, and rain covers.
It's all designed to be adaptable, modular, and quickly detachable, and it seems that part of the deal is a matching shoulder strap and a pair of rucksack straps. But you'll need to check exactly what you get with what. Apparently, there's a fair amount of adjustment built into this "tough" luggage system, so you should be able to tailor it to fit around high- and low-level silencers and whatnot. Bike-specific kits have been created for the BMW R nineT, Triumph Scrambler, Thruxton 900, Bonneville T100, Moto Guzzi V7 and the Ducati Scrambler. Kits for the new generation 1200cc Triumph twins and Yamaha's XSR are, we hear, in the pipeline.
The bag sizes and configurations are too complicated to go into in too much detail, but check out the following prices, all of which include VAT, and then click the link further below if anything catches your eye.
Tail bag LR1 £140.99 Tail bag LR2 £224.99 Saddle Strap SLS £43.99 Saddle bag LS1 £106.99 (each side) Saddle bag LS2 £119.99 (each side) Side bags LC1 £124.00 (each side) Side bag LC2 £133.00 (each side) Tank bag LT1 £70.00 Tank bag LT2 £110.99
Note that we haven't seen any of this kit up close. That's ultimately your job. But SW Motech generally serve up a reasonable product at a fair price. www.motohaus.com ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY► |
