US Suzuki GSX-S1000 recall15th December 2015 Suzuki | Brake | Master cylinder | NHTSA ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY►
As far as we know, only USA Suzukis are affected, and only 600 of them. But we get plenty of US visitors on Sump, and we like to think we've got a global reach. Besides, it pays to check, just in case. The recall isn't exactly new. It was issued on 19th November 2015 after Suzuki notified the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and alerted the authorities to a leaky seal groove in the front brake master cylinder. Suzuki has been notifying owners of the affected GSX-S1000 bikes. And a list of those machines and their various designations has been published online on various sites. It includes certain GSX-S1000As and GSX-S1000FAs. But it's safer and simpler to advise owners to check with their Suzuki dealer and let him or her sort it out.
With regard to the specific nature of the fault, it appears that it has something to do with contamination by a non-specified surface treatment fluid. If your GSX-S1000 needs fixing, your dealer will replace the master cylinder free of charge. ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY► |
