Weise Clifton & Docklands2nd February 2016 Textile motorcycle jacket | Leather | Wax cotton ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY►
Weise has released details of two new jackets for 2016. The first is the Clifton (on the left), and the other is the Docklands (look right). The Clifton is a textile jacket clearly aimed at riders who favour the wax cotton look, but can live without the wax. The outer "shell" is a 500 Denier weave with CE approved armour at the shoulders, elbows and back. According to Weise, "It's also designed to do a much better job at protecting the wearer from the elements, with a waterproof, windproof and breathable drop liner and a removable fleece inner, too."
Some noteworthy points on this jacket are the minimal branding and a sliding cover to prevent the waist buckle from gouging your fuel tank. Hand warmer pockets are included in the design. The Clifton is available in men's sizes from S-5XL. The price is £159.99.
The other new jacket, the Docklands, is made from bits of dead cows and features CE armour throughout. The brown finish is described as antique. Features include padded detailing and brass poppers. There are two pockets on the chest (one each side), vintage looking zips (on the cuffs too), and you get a buckle at the collar to allow for a scarf or neck warmer. We're a little suspicious about having a buckle at our throats, but maybe it's perfectly harmless. Meanwhile, the lining is described as "soft". If you can live with the notion of innocent members of the bovine community being humanely executed and butchered, the Docklands should retail at £199.99. Sizes are S-3XL. Looks like a decent piece of flesh. But we'd go with the Clifton every time. ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY► |
