Yamaha's new MT-1022nd November 2015 998cc | YZF R1S | Crossplane | Slipper clutch ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY►
This bike has just been revealed at the EICMA show in Milan, Italy (from where most of the current glut of motorcycle news is coming). Essentially, this Yam is the new fairy at the top of the MT tree with a rolling chassis based upon the YZF-R1S as imported into the US market (basically a more wimpy R1). Except that this bike is a wolf minus its outer skin (fairing) and is stripped and fattened for hooligan business on the mean streets of ...well, Dunstable, Lytham St Annes, Nether Wallop and any number of English villages, towns and cities.
The engine is a 998cc inline four based upon Yamaha's current crossplane crank obsession. Features will include ABS, traction control, 3 switchable riding modes, a slipper clutch, cruise control, a KYB front fork and KYB rear suspension, twin Nissin calipers up front (radial, 320mm, floating), a single 220mm caliper at the rear, and an LCD dash. No power figures. No price. Click this Yamaha MT-10 link for a closer look. ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY► | MOTORCYCLE NEWS - LATEST!!
