2016 Speed Triple prices18th January 2016 1050cc | Speed Triple S | Speed Triple R ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY►
Triumph Motorcycles has just released details of the 2016 1050cc Speed Triple S and Speed Triple R prices. The bikes are currently "enjoying" a press launch in Southern Spain, and early road tests suggest that the 104 engine changes haven't exactly elevated the new Speed Triple onto the next level of motorcycling combat. Not that there's anything wrong with the bike. Far from it. The engineers at Triumph have clearly dialled in a lot of refinement. Torque is up, and power too. Or so Triumph claim. But the hard numbers have yet to be revealed, and that means that the first impressions are subjective and anecdotal. However, for all the tweaks, nips and tucks, it's essentially an improved Speed Triple rather than a giant leap forward. And it has to be said, the 2015 Speed Triple is a great motorcycle, and it was sorted out sufficiently for the vast majority of riders. The features on both bikes include selectable ABS, a slip-assist clutch, five rider modes, traction control, ride-by-wire throttles, Brembo monoblock brakes, and revised styling.
The S model is the standard bike. Triumph will be offering this at £10,200. The Speed Triple R, which features fully-adjustable Ohlins suspension front and rear, will be offered at £11,500. Colours are: Diablo Red, Phantom Black, Crystal White, Matt Graphite. More from Sump on the 2016 Triumph Speed Triple. ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY► | MOTORCYCLE NEWS - LATEST!!
