Evotech Performance14th January 2016 Engine guards | Bobbins | Crash protection ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY►
Evotech is the trading arm of Drury Precision Engineering. The firm is based in Alford, Lincolnshire. Drury was founded in the mid-1970s by Rob Drury. He began by manufacturing sheet metal parts for motorcycles. Evotech/Drury has facilities for CNC machining, vacuum forming, powder-coating, metal forming plus design & prototyping. The range of motorcycle parts include handlebar bar-end weights, radiator guards, engine guards, levers, tail-tidies/fender eliminators and crash protection systems. Most of the major motorcycle brands are catered for from Aprilia to Yamaha. The company is very much up-to-the-minute, and it can produce designs within weeks of the launch of a new model.
Evotech has comprehensive software for developing and modelling new designs. Individual jobs are no doubt possible. But for cost effectiveness, batchwork is, as ever, the way to go. The business is currently managed by Dan Rack and Christopher Vines. Around 23 staff are employed here. We might mention that Evotech handles general engineering work outside of the motorcycle sector. But the biking arm is a strong component of the business model. We have no personal experience of this firm. But no warning signs are sounding anywhere on the Sump desk, so we think Evotech is worth a closer look. And remember, this is a firm that produces parts for motorcycles right here in the UK. So what about the prices? Well, a tail tidy for a 750cc Aprilia Dorsoduro will cost you around £70. A Kawasaki ZX9R exhaust hanger is around £20. And a Honda CB1300 radiator guard (image immediately above) will cost around £60 (January 2016 prices, note). We'll be looking closer at Evotech. And so might you. www.evotech-performance.com ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY► |
