If you ride a Yamaha FJR1300, a BMW R1200RT a Suzuki GSX1250FA, or something similar, these new ContiRoadAttack 2EVO GT tyres are aimed at you.

The new hoops haven't yet landed on UK shores, but they're on the boat, so your local tyre merchant will no doubt soon be having a word in your shell-like with a view to selling you a pair.

The big changes with these GT designated upgrades (over the standard ContiRoadAttack 2 EVO) are slight (and unspecified) modifications to the front, and an extra ply to the rear. Conti also tells us that: "Furthermore, [the new tyre's] TractionSkin surface allows the GT to be removed from the mold (mould) without having to use a release agent, which means it needs only a very short break-in period."

The sizes are: 120/70 ZR17 M/C (58W) TL-GT and 180/55 ZR17 M/C (73W) TL-GT.

We've no specific information on what might happen if you do mix and match. But you're not stupid, and you've got plenty of imagination. Our advice is to listen to the manufacturer. No doubt, you'll agree.
