H-D 101 program launched10th February 2016 Harley-Davidson | Boot Camp | Garage Party ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY►
"Extending the brand's reach in a fun, no-stress manner." That's the official pitch from Harley-Davidson regarding this latest phase of an ongoing crusade to introduce newcomers to the world of motorcycling in general, and more specifically to the Harley-Davidson marque. 101 follows on from previous Boot Camp and Garage Party programs. Under the scheme, would be bikers who might otherwise be daunted by the unfamiliar sights, sounds, concepts and customs of the motorcycle world will get an opportunity to become familiarised courtesy of their local H-D dealer.
And naturally, that familiarity includes Harley-Davidson clothes, Harley-Davidson, accessories, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and the wider Harley-Davidson language. But we're not knocking it. It's a smart play, and because of it, H-D has arguably become the most recognised motorcycle brand in the world.
Not content to stop there, there will also be special theme nights targeted to first responders such as police officers, fire-fighters and emergency medical technicians. At present, the H-D 101 program is aimed at US novice riders. But it will eventually be rolled out across Canada and parts of Latin America. Talk to your local dealer for more. Meanwhile, we're watching intently to see if Triumph can show a little initiative and follow suit. ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY► |
