Indian dealer competition5th December 2015 Project Scout | Polaris | Daytona Bike Week ◄PREVIOUS STORY NEXT STORY►
It's called "Project Scout, Build a Legend". The idea is that Indian dealers can knock-up an Indian Scout with no restrictions on theme, style, or cost. However, dealers must use at least three items from Indian range of 200 bolt-on goodies (subtle marketing ploy there, huh?). Indian reckon that "up to 10 dealers" from Europe, the Middle East and Africa will participate in this initiative. Their names will be announced "soon". After that, they've got until 8th January 2016 to complete the build (and if that doesn't sound like a recipe for a bona-fide, no-holds-barred, bolt-on bitza bonanza rather than an exercise in genuine creativity, we owe Polaris Industries a grovelling apology). So who decides who will win the comp? Well, Indian "fans" apparently. A dedicated web page will be created. The dealer bikes will, on 18th January 2016, go on that page. And a finalist decision will be made on 20th February (2016). The top three boltmen (plus guest) will get an expense paid trip to the 75th annual Daytona Bike Week (4th March - 14th March 2016). And the overall winner will be announced at a ceremony on Daytona Beach. Sound cool? Each to his own.
