Classic motorcycle metal wall signs for your garage, shed, or home

Confession time...

We've got a confession to make. Actually, we've got lots of confessions. But right now, we're not talking about the school fire or the shallow graves or the embezzlement. We're talking only about our passion for lowbrow garage art.

We know it's kinda kitch and trashy and corny. And some of the stuff we like and hang on the walls ain't even original.

It's repro stuff, designed to make your life or garage (which is the same thing, ain't it?) a little brighter and more colourful (and okay, make us a little money too).

But that's a fair exchange, and ya gotta eat. And it pays for free-to-air Sump.

We've got dozens of metal signs on the Sump garage walls, and not all of 'em are repossession notices and distraint-of-goods stickers.

We've got all of these signs featured here, and a lot of others besides.

They cover the cracks in the plaster and the holes in the roof, and some of 'em are hung at knee height so that when we're down there in the dirt hammering in another wheel bearing, we can catch a glimpse of what our oily old heaps could actually look like it we knew what the hell we were doing.

No eBay rubbish here

So okay, there are a lot of tinplate signs out there. But most are cheap and nasty rubbish (check eBay for details).

Plenty of what's on offer are low resolution (i.e. 150dpi) prints glued onto slices of steel with edges that can take off the odd finger.

Others metal signs are misshapen, or blurred, or have the image clipped (we've seen that a few times before), or just plain unappealing.

But we like these metal signs, and that's why we're selling them; so that you can like 'em too.

High quality wall signs

They ain't ever likely to see a crowd in the Louvre or the National Gallery. We checked the Guggenheim too, and there was nothing similar hanging there.

But in our private galleries where guys like thee and we really live, these are all the art we need.

The images are a minimum of 300dpi, with a maximum of 1,400dpi (meaning high to very high resolution). They're printed straight onto steel plate, and given enough time and appropriate neglect, they'll maybe start to corrode a little here and there and will take on that essential time-worn patina (or you can wax 'em every now and again if you prefer the pristine, fresh from the mill look).

Prices range from £11.99 to £14.99 plus postage and packing, and that's a small price to pay for a motorcycling Monet or a biking Botticelli, especially when you remember that you're gonna get decades of pleasure out of these (if you live that long).

Footnote

If you're reasonably sober you'll notice that many of the signs are now out of stock. But we've left them on display largely for your edification, but also because we're constantly updating. So what's not available today might well be on offer tomorrow.
