About this framed print...
The BSA Super Rocket enjoyed a six year production run between 1958 and 1963. Based upon the established and very durable 646cc BSA A10 platform, the A10SR Super Rocket was designed to take on the likes of Triumph (in particular) and Norton, both of which were helping themselves to an unhealthy slice of a diminishing cake.
The factory-built BSA Super Rocket (see image immediately below) featured at its peak an alloy cylinder head, big valves, high-compression pistons, heavy duty main bearings, an Amal TT carburettor and a "357" full race camshaft (as fitted to the BSA Spitfire). As supplied, the "50hp" bikes were hot on the street and hotter in competition. Plenty of examples were subsequently given the full clubman/cafe racer treatment courtesy of aftermarket accessories provided by the likes of noted BSA dealer Eddie Dow who created the famous Rocket Gold Star (RGS).
The Super Rocket featured on our print is one such heavily modified example. It didn't leave the BSA factory the way it's presented here, except perhaps in spirit. Instead, the full RGS treatment came later. But this is exactly how we like Super Rockets or RGSs. Lean, uncompromising and high-performance.
Our BSA Super Rocket print is mounted in a 225mm x 175mm x 16mm solid oak frame. The high quality image measures 203mm x 152mm (or 8-inches x 6-inches, if you prefer).
The frames are good quality and will last for decades. We spent a lot of time choosing them and negotiating with salesmen and getting exactly the right package.
We're adding to the range constantly, all of which are supplied mounted in the same quality oak frames to look good on your wall, desk, mantelpiece, shelf or wherever. Tip: our prints look much better as part of a set of four. So check our range below and see which four would best suit you.
