▲ 2019 Indian Roadmaster. This barn door is one of three Thunder Stroke® 111 machines
equipped with Indian's new rear cylinder deactivation system. When the ambient temperature hits 15ºC, and when the 1,811cc bike is at a standstill, a sensor shuts down the back pot leaving just the front cylinder to burble away. But hit the throttle and the rear piston powers up (smoothly, we're told), and orf you jolly well go. It could be a first for motorcycles (but Indian isn't claiming that). However, cars have had a similar partial shut down system for some time. The question is: Has Indian really engineered this to keep the riders (extra) cool, or is it designed to prevent a premature meltdown at the back? We don't know. We're just cynically hypothesizing. Three riding modes are also on offer; tour, standard and sport. The Chief and the Springfield, by the way, are the other stablemates. We like these cruisers, but it's all getting too complicated, isn't it?

V9 Guzzi Bobber Sport

Actually, there's not a lot to tell about this bike. But we're gonna tell it anyway because that's what we're here for—and note how we've cunningly filled up a few lines of copy and told you absolutely nothing, which is exactly what you have to do when there's nothing much to say. That aside, Moto Guzzi has released details of its new V9 Bobber Sport which looks pretty much the same as the standard Guzzi V9 Bobber and, for that matter, the V9 Roamer—and in view of how tame and docile these factory "chop jobs" look, we think they should have been called B9, not V9. TCX Ladies Vintage Boots

These are not the first pair of TCX boots that in recent years we've tested. Back in June 2017 we reviewed the Hero Boots which we were broadly impressed with—and they're still being road-tested and are giving good daily service. However, at around £170 (recommend retail price), the Heroes ain't cheap. But then, quality never is, and it's clear that these TCX Ladies Vintage Boots are built to exactly the same high standard. Motus Motorcycles is bust

US boutique/niche motorcycle manufacturer, Motus, has informed all customers that the company has "reached the end of its financial backing from investors", meaning that the well has run dry and there's no more money to stay solvent. The news broke by email on 31st August 2018 and will be greeted by both huge disappointment and concern from the firm's customers. A formal notice of liquidation is still being drafted. But unless someone comes forward with some cash, energy, enthusiasm and vision, it's game over. [More...]

EAT SLEEP RIDE REPEAT T-shirt £19.99

This the second edition of these Bobber T-shirts, and they're different from edition one which were printed on grey. Why the change? Well, we received numerous email enquiries asking if we had these tees on black. So eventually we relented and changed the colour (ya gotta keep the customer satisfied, are we right?). Anyway, these shirts sell fast. The new batch is here, but they won't last long. To get yours while it's going, click on the image or the button below. You never know when the production fairy will call it a day...
