▲ 2020 Indian Challenger. To add to Harley-Davidson's contemporary sales and financial woes, Polaris Industries has launched the new and appropriately named Indian Challenger ahead of the forthcoming EICMA show in Milan, Italy. Designed from the ground up, at the heart of this new bagger is a 1,769cc liquid-cooled, SOHC*, 4-valve per cylinder, PowerPlus V-Twin claimed to be delivering 122hp and 128Ib-ft of torque. A six-speed gear-driven transmission transmits the power via a wet multi-plate clutch. Wheels are 19-inch front and 16-inch rear. Other features include the very obvious fairing (the size of a small snowmobile), a 43mm inverted front fork, a single Fox shock (pre-load adjustable), a cast aluminium frame, 2 x 320mm front discs with 4-piston radial calipers (Brembo), a single rear disc with 298cc single piston caliper, LED lighting throughout, ABS, electronic cruise control, and keyless ignition. Three Challenger Indians are on the warpath. These are the standard Challenger, the Challenger Dark Horse, and the top-of-the-tribe Challenger Limited with Smart Lean Technology. The US price is $21,999 - $27,999. The UK price is around £24,999. www.indianmotorcycle.co.uk * Note: This refers to one camshaft per cylinder. MOTORCYCLE NEWSNovember 2019

2020 H-D Pan America Is this the ugliest Harley-Davidson ever? We can't decide. One moment we think it looks like something you might cobble together with Lego and propel with a rubber band. And the next moment we take a step back and squint and nod and think; You know, they just might have something there... And while we're mulling over this poser, we'll tell you that this bike is the new prototype 1,250cc Pan America sledgehammer that H-D is hoping to help crack open the adventure bike market. 2020 H-D Bronx Harley-Davidson has finally, but only partly, taken the wraps off a totally new motorcycle platform that it (desperately?) hopes will power the Milwaukee firm into a new age of biking. Consequently, it's appropriate enough that the new engine powering what the firm refers to as a "streetfighter" is called the Revolution Max (not to be confused with the current Revolution X engines). This new 975cc 60-degree liquid-cooled V-twin boasts "more than 115 horsepower" and churns out "more than 70lbs-ft of torque". [More...] |
2020 Triumph Bobber TFC "Ultra premium limited edition motorcycles". That's how Triumph describes its TFC concept. The recipe is simple enough. Take one model off the assembly line. Develop a revamped styling theme. Throw a selection of uprated parts at it. Bling-it within an inch of its life. Produce a limited number of examples. Then serve it up with a suitably expensive price tag. That's a TFC Triumph. A Triumph Factory Custom. And Hinckley has certainly kept its promise of high quality motorcycling, not least with the new TFC Triumph Bobber. We think it looks a peach—give or take the odd trashy Union Jack graphic on the petrol tank. [More...] |

Sump workshirt £26.99 All purpose street & garage wear We spend much of our miserable lives in the garage. Usually we're fixing bikes and stuff, and all too often we're re-fixing the stuff we ought to have fixed properly the first time around. So it goes. Anyway, we wanted to increase our product range (that's partly how we fund Sump) and we've been thinking for some time about introducing workshirts and general shirts that we might want to wear when the weather closes in—which is most of the time in the UK. Anyway, this is the result; our first Sump branded garage/all purpose shirt. The Sump logo is featured above the left-side pocket only (notice how we cunningly avoided saying "breast"?). The image quality is very good and will last the life of the shirt. We think these are pretty good quality and worth the money. First come, first served, etc. Hit the button below, baby...

BSA M20/M21 workshirt £26.99 All purpose street & garage wear Seems that plenty of folk love our BSA M20/M21 T-shirt design which features the above roundel. So, to widen the appea we decided to reproduce it on a more formal shirt that you might want to wear in the garage or in the magistrate's court. The shirts are 100% cotton twill, which means they're tougher than ordinary cotton. We wear these ourselves, and we're perfectly happy with them—and we're nothing if not hard to please. Follow the links and see if they're right for you (Hint: they probably are). The BSA M20/M21 roundel is featured above the left-side pocket only. And when you wear this, other BSA folk will notice and might even become your friend and take you out for walks and stuff. It happens. The image quality is very good and will last the life of the shirt. You know you want it, and you know we've got it.
