Route 66 litter
This isn't simply a US problem. It's global. We discover this mess along the road when we stop for a while to stretch our legs. The litter has in fact been with us for much of the way. We've glimpsed it, but ignored it because when you're rolling on 66, you're focussed on the horizon. However, there's no getting away from it, and it spoils the mood a little. We prowl around a little studying the discarded cans and wrappers and bottles and food containers. We don't know what we're looking for. Nothing really. We're just assimilating. Junking thoughts. In the UK we can think of hundreds of similar roads. It's a mess.
