And okay, we cruised the streets where Steve McQueen drove that Mustang in Bullitt. Then we drove on to Nevada via Reno, Las Vegas, and Boulder City, then back on Route 66, across country to Albuquerque where we swapped the Mustang for a Chevrolet Camaro convertible. Back on 66 we blasted off to Amarillo and Oklahoma City, stopped, ate, explored, then motored onwards and veered off 66 for Fort Smith, Memphis, and Nashville. Next came Knoxville, Roanoke, Harrisonburg and Washington, and finally we spent a few days in New York City strolling around Central Park and visiting the usual tourist haunts and galleries. The real journey of our lives is, of course, all of our lives, and Route 66 was a very memorable part of it. We marked our journey with a Route 66 T-shirt. The price is £14.99.
