Tucumcari Rat Rod
Rat rods are pretty much everywhere along Route 66. We spot a couple in a passing gas station. There's no one around. It looks deserted; not so much a working or trading establishment, but more like a movie set. Living theatre. Automobilia on Route 66, we've discovered, is like street furniture. It lurks at the roadside and adds to the vibe. We need an adapter plug for our British electrical equipment. Should have sorted it out earlier, but we were busy driving. We find a store at the roadside, but they haven't got what we want. Tip: buy what you need at home. We roll on through the town looking for signs of life.
